Jean Weinstein

WYCKOFF — Jean Weinstein passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the age of 93. Born in Hoboken, she was raised in Ridgewood before moving to Wyckoff, where she remained a longtime resident. Jean and her late husband, Robert, owned The Barn Original Restaurant in Wyckoff for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of the Westside Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood.

Jean will be remembered for her kindness and positive outlook, always looking for the good in others. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert, who passed away in 2002.

Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Debra Weinstein, her dear son, Robert Weinstein, and a nephew, John Schulz.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.

Robert Curtis Weinstein

WYCKOFF — Robert Curtis Weinstein, 78, of Wyckoff, died Nov. 9 at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Born in Paterson, he had been a lifelong resident of Wyckoff. Before retiring in 1996, he owned The Barn Original in Wyckoff.

He was an Army veteran of World War II in the First Infantry Division, a member and former president of the 16th Armored Division Association, a charter member of the Wyckoff Jaycees, and a member and past commander of VFW Post 7086, Wyckoff and Midland Park, and served on the Wyckoll Memorial Day Parade Committee.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Jean (nee Pope); his daughter Debra Weinstein and son Robert K. Weinstein, both of Wyckoff; his sister Lillian M. Bates of South Dakota; and a nephew, John Schulz of Northvale. He was predeceased by his brother, Matthew F. Weinstein, in 2001.

Funeral services were held on Nov 13 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff. Interment followed in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery.

Visitation was Nov. 12. In lieu of Howers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, New Jersey Affiliate Memorials Program, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
