W. H. Farley Jr., Age 38, Ex-Resident, Dies Friday

William Henry Farley Jr., 38 of Los Angeles, former Oil Cily resident, died unexpectedly at 6 p. m. Friday in Los Angeles, according to word received here by relatives.

Mr. Farley was in charge of the sales force for the Southwest Plywood Company’s hardwood lumber division in Los Angeles.

He was born February 14, 1927, in Oil City, the son of W. H. and Helen Leedom Farley Sr. He graduated from Oil City High School in 1945 and received his bachelor’s degree in education from Clarion State College after serving in the U.S. Navy, where he served on transport duty during World War II.

He was a member of the Second Presbylerian Church of Oil City and the Young Republicans League in Los Angeles.

Mr. Farley is survived by his widow, the former Maxine Gopin; two sons, William Henry (Wig) Farley Ill and James Wilson Farley, and a daughter, Jean Paul Farley, all of Oil City: his mother, Mrs. W. H. Farley Sr. of Oil City, and a sister, Mrs. Marvin P. (Linda) Brown of Closter, N. J,

Removal will be made to the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Prayer services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Dr. Robert B. Shane, pastor of the Second Presbylerian Church, officiating.

Private interment services will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
