Narrative
Louis filed his first Declaration of Intent on 20 May 1907 in Baltimore, MD, citing a birth date of 20 Oct 1886. Many other records cite his birth date as 20 Oct 1889. Which year is correct? One clue lies in the History of the Declaration of Intention (1795-1956), which states that “any alien, aged eighteen or older, could file a declaration with any naturalization court at any time.” Assuming that the 20 Oct 1889 birth date is correct, Louis would not have been eighteen until 20 Oct 1907, five months after he filed his first Declaration of Intent. He may have made himself old enough to file by moving his birth date three years earlier.

Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services at Sol Levinson & Bros. Home, 6010 Reisterstown Road, on Monday. September 12, at 2 P.M. Interment in Arlington Cemetery Chizuk Amuno Congregation (Rogers Avenue). Please omit flowers. The family will be at home at 3708 Glengyle Avenue.

Mrs. Rose Selko
Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Rose Selko, 68, wife of the proprietor of Monumental Paper Company.
The services were at the Sol Levinson & Bros. establishment, 6010 Reisterstown Road. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery of Chizuk Amuno Congregation.
Mrs. Selko, of 2514 Keyworth Avenue, was ill for many years. She had been active for the Levindale home for the aged and as a member of Beth Isaac Adath Israel Congregation.
Survivors are her husband, Louis; three daughters, Mrs. De-Neice Kerbel, Mrs. Hilda Siegal and Mrs. Shirley Gottsagen, all of Baltimore; two sons, Soll, of Baltimore, and Mark, of Los Angeles; two brothers, Louis Levin, of Baltimore, and Jack Levin, of Miami Beach, and three sisters, Mrs. Katie Beresonsky and Mrs. Rebecca Lipsitz, of Baltimore, and Mrs. Frieda Levine, of Washington.
