Robert L. Acuff Sr.

Robert L. Acuff Sr., 87, Springfield, Mo., passed away at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, in Cox Medical Center North, Springfield.

Mr. Acuff was born Aug. 12, 1909, in Springfield, Mo., to Joseph Minter and Florence Hunt Acuff.

He worked for Springfield Tablet Company for over 50 years and also served as Vice President. He was a longtime member of Hickory Hills Country Club and a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie I. Acuff.

He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Acuff Smith, Charleston, III.; two sons, Jack Acuff, Grand Junction, Colo., and Bob Acuff, Kensington, Md.; a brother, Joseph Acuff, Forsyth, Mo.; five grandchildren, Robert Acuff III, Than Acuff, David and James Smith, and Colm Acuff; and three great-grandchildren, Robert Acuff V, Laura Acuff, and Justin.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1997, in Hazelwood Cemetery under the direction of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home with formal visitation from 4 to 5 p.m.
