Cherished grandmother of Rhonda and Norman Gontovnick, Brian, Jeffrey, and Debra Birenbaum, Yaniev and Doron Degen, and great-grandmother of Brandon and Samara Gontovnick. Dear sister of Golda Berish, the late Benyamin, the late Eli, the late Yoel, the late Devora, and the late Chaya Gitel. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Taion West, on Sunday, January 8, at 11:30 a.m. Burial at the Farband Labour Zionist Organization Cemetery, de la Savane. Cherished grandfather of Rhonda and Norman Gontovnick, Brian and Eva Birenbaum, Jeffrey and Rhonda Birenbaum, Debra and Michel Tylbor, Yaniv and Yael Degen, Doron and Davida Degen of Israel. Proud great-grandfather of Brandon, Samara, Sydney, Sasha, Chloe, Shane, and Odeyah Bisora. Brother and brother-in-law of Sydney and Rochelle Degen, the late Nathan and the late Ida Degen of Chicago, and all his other brothers and sisters who perished in the Holocaust.
