Kathleen J. Mittman (nee Murphy), age 74, of Troy, OH, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2021.
She was born to the late James and June Murphy on May 20, 1947, in Chicago, IL.
Kathy was married to her devoted husband, Daniel, for 51 years and is survived by her sons: Daniel Jr. of Urbana, IL, Christopher (Nicole) of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Michael (Melissa) of Toledo, OH. She was the proud grandmother of Paige (Tyler), Zachary, Kynadee, Benjamin, and Haden. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Ryder and Tripp, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended relatives. Kathy was also the beloved sister of James (Patricia) Murphy and the late Sharon (late Kermit) Mueller.
Kathy had a big heart and was always willing to do whatever she could for her family and friends. She was full of humor, kindness, and compassion and exuded warmth and genuine care for everyone she encountered. She was an avid animal lover and gave generously to various charities throughout her life. She was known for her delicious (and often requested!) chocolate chip cookies and delicious barbecue ribs. Kathy was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs and a St. Patrick Catholic Church member in Troy, OH.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held later.
