LOLENE CORDIE MITTMAN
MOUNT AIRY — Lolene Cordie Mittman, 82, of 178 Mount View Drive, was born in Stokes County to the late Luther William and Annie King Penn on November 25, 1923. She passed away on Sunday morning, June 18, 2006, at Northern Hospital of Surry County, Mount Airy.
She was married to the late Benjamin Franklin Mittman; from this union, one son was born, The Rev. Benjamin William Mittman (Michelle) of Greensboro. Other relatives to cherish her memories are two grandsons, Benjamin W. Mittman, Jr. (Bonita) of Durham, Michael Antonio Mittman of Greensboro, three sisters, Audrey Doran Penn of the home, Mildred Penn Joyce of Fort Washington, Maryland, Barbara East of Pilot Mountain, and one brother, Rockford Britt Penn, Sr. of Winston Salem. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lucy Penn, Nellie Penn, Myrtle Penn Bowles, Ida Penn Hopper, and Nannie Penn Joyce; four brothers, James Roland Penn, Luther William Penn Jr., Ronald Austin Penn, and Donald Gilbert Penn.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm today at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Airy. The Rev. Cecil Thompson will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in Ararat Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the funeral service. The family can be contacted at her home at 178 Mount View Drive, Mount Airy.
