[4016]INFANT SON IS TAKEN BY DEATHOn Sunday, December 6, 1925, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom M. Cooney was brightened by the birth of a son, who was the first and only boy. He was given the names of his two grandfathers, and when just one week old, he was baptised and christened Richard Frederick Cooney.
But it seems as though the Great Creator intended that he stay with us only for a short time and just seven short weeks after, on Sunday morning, January 24, 1926, his young life departed from its earthly home and went again to that spiritual home from whence it came so short a time before.
Although it seems to us these kind of earthly joys with their anticipations and plans are unreasonably short, it is not for us to complain but our duty to bow in humble submission to the greater power that rules as God sees fit and rejoice that the privilege was given us as a personal possession to have and keep sacred now the memory of his short life with us.
On Tuesday afternoon at 2:00, the funeral services were conducted at the home by Father Kavanaugh of Elmereek, and the body was laid away in Saint Ann’s Cemetery near Lexington.
CARD OF THANKSWe take this means of expressing our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our friends who helped in any way during the sickness, death, and burial of our darling baby.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom M. Cooney and family.
