MRav Avner Zentner Solomon, age 71, of Halifax, NS, passed away on March 26, 2021, at the VG Hospital. Born in Montreal, QC, he was the son of Harold and Sari (Reider) Solomon.
Survived by his wife Leah (Nault) Solomon; 3 daughters: Amanda (Douglas) Mace, Perth, WA; Naomi (Nathan) Sullivan, Halifax; Elizabeth (Scott) Mitchell, Halifax; 7 sons: Jason (Christine) Solomon, Ottawa; Lee (Jennifer) Solomon, Halifax; Jeremy (Katherine) Solomon, Ottawa; David (April) Solomon, Halifax; Joshua (Melissa) Solomon, Edmonton; Ariel Solomon, Halifax; Zachary (Lyta) Solomon, Halifax; sister Heather (Robert) Solomon-Bowden; 22 grandchildren; niece and nephew. Predeceased by his parents.
He dedicated his life to serving as a Messianic Rabbi at Congregation Ner Tamid in Halifax. He was also the President and founder of CTOMC, where he guided many other Messianic Rabbis and their congregations worldwide.
Funeral service will be held at Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home on March 30 at 10 am — burial in Fairview Cemetery (extension).
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff on the QE2 Neurology Floor and the VG Palliative Care Unit for the care and compassion they provided throughout his stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Ner Tamid or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
