[4037]James BarrettJames H. Barrett, 78, of 1535 N. Pine St., Davenport, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1992, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Davenport.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial is in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Mercy Continuing Care, Visiting Nurse and Homemaker Association of Scott County, or the church.
Mr. Barrett was born April 18, 1914, in Ferndale, Wash., the son of Thomas A. and Margaret Drager Barrett. He married Viola Gertz in 1946, in Sedro-Woolley, Wash. She died Jan. 23, 1982. He married Alma Dannenfeldt Anderson on Aug. 6, 1988, in Davenport.
He retired in 1975 as a mail carrier.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, the Letter Carriers Union, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He was a World War II Army veteran and received a Purple Heart.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Katherine Lowry, Skaneateles, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Dannenfeldt, Flagstaff, Ariz.; stepsons, Larry Dannenfeldt, Phoenix, Ariz., and Allen Dannenfeldt, Moline; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Laura Ruby, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Mary Barr, Sedro-Woolley, Wash.; and brothers, Fred and Clarence Barrett, both of Sedro-Woolley.
