[1799]John Blaney, Former All-State Player, 29TOTOWA — Blaney, 29, of 28 Harding Ave, a former All-State basketball player, died suddenly yesterday at his home after a week’s illness. Born in Passaic, he was a graduate of St. Joseph’s grammar and high schools in Paterson and Rutgers University. In 1950, he was named to the All-State team and played semiprofessional basketball from 1950 to 1956. Mr. Blaney was a veteran of the Korean conflict and was an accountant with MacNichol and Johnson and Co., New York City.
Surviving are his wife, Marianna Lally Blaney; a daughter, Sally Jane; his mother, Mrs. Jane Dunn Blaney of Paterson; a twin brother, Robert of Garfield; another brother, William of Paterson; and a sister, Mrs Alfred (Margaret) Semento of Hawthorne. His father, William, predeceased him. The funeral will be held on Monday.
