3340WELL-KNOWN SOUTH END COUPLE MARRIEDMITTMAN-LOHSE NUPTIALS TAKE PLACE LAST EVENING.Marriage Takes Place at the Country Home of the Bride's Parents on Muscatine Island. In the presence of thirty-five immediate relatives at five o’clock last evening, the marriage of Miss Cora L. Mittman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mittman of Muscatine Island, and John E. Lohse, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lohse of Pond Street, was celebrated. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Marten, pastor of the German Evangelical church, under a white wedding bell suspended from an arch of asparagus and white roses.
The bride was gowned in a creation of white hand-embroidered voile and carried bridal roses. Miss Ida Mittman, a sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and wore a gown of pink silk, holding pink roses. Albert Mittman, a brother of the bride, acted as groomsman. The home was prettily decorated with pink and white flowers, which were used profusely.
Following the ceremony, a three-course wedding supper was served, during which the members of the Epworth League of the German Evangelical church serenaded the newly married couple. The young people will be at home at once to friends at the home of the bride’s parents on Muscatine Island.
