Scott Newman of South Brunswick Township, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Son of the late Charles and Arlene (Mittman) Newman, he was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Scott had a storied career as an award-winning sports journalist in Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, an investigative producer for ABC and NBC News, and head of strategy for Bloomberg’s media syndication division in New York. Most recently, Scott took up financial advising as The Practical Guy. Scott was an avid fantasy football participant and often gave his winnings to charity.
Scott was dearly loved by his wife of 26 years, Beth (Caruso) Newman; his two daughters, Bianca and Alexxa; his brother, Brett; his sister, Allyson, and her husband, Terry Kiesow; his aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; and countless loyal and caring friends and colleagues. All will miss his unique sense of humor, quick wit, solid integrity, and boundless compassion for others.
