[3166]Marjorie O. HintzWALLINGFORD — Marjorie O. Mittman Hintz, 76, of Highland Avenue, Wallingford, died Friday, May 23, 1997, at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Edward F. Hintz. Born in Glastonbury on Jan. 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Dickau Mittman. Mrs. Hintz had been raised by her late maternal grandparents, Charles and Ida Dickau, and resided in Glastonbury until moving to Wallingford 47 years ago. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship of the church and was an instructor for the church’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School programs for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Martha H. and Joseph W. Jarosz of Wallingford; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Laura Jo Hintz of Wallingford and Gerald R. Hintz of Dix Hills, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Amy E. Hintz of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Monday, May 26, 1997, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday. May 27, at 1 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. The interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Christian Children’s Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294-3725, or St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
