HAMMERSLEY, Audrey H.

Audrey H. Hammersley, 78, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2016, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the former wife and best friend of William Hammersley of Shelton.

Audrey was born in Torrington on November 6, 1937, to the late Robert and Helen Harrison. She was an avid traveler, exploring many parts of the world, and in her later years enjoyed visiting with her friends at both the Wallingford and North Haven Senior Centers. She will be missed by her many friends in the Eaton Place community.

Audrey will be sadly missed by her daughters: Lisa (Ralph) DeMartino of Meriden, Laura Sorber and her partner Christopher Price of N.C., Linda (Paul) Aparo of West Hartford, and Liana (Paul) Forrette of MD. Audrey also leaves one son: Robert (Lisa) Hammersley of Southington. She will be missed by her many grandchildren: Karisa and Michaela Egan; Allison, Jack, lan, and William Hammersley; Rachel DeMartino, and Marcel Forrette. She also leaves her brothers: Lawrence Harrison of Wallingford and Alden (Peggy) Harrison of FL, as well as her sister-in-law, Carmen Harrison of Stratford. Audrey was predeceased by her brothers, Robert Harrison and Kenneth Harrison.

A Memorial Service in Audrey’s memory will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, at the First Congregational Church, 23 South Main St. in Wallingford, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be forwarded to the Wallingford Senior Center, 238 Washington St., Walingtord, CT 06492.
