Robert A. Harrison
Robert Alden Harrison, 61, of 1057 Wallingford Rd., Cheshire, husband of Helen Mittman Harrison, died Wednesday evening at his home following a long illness.
He was born April 28, 1905, in Kingston, N.C., and is a son of the late William and Jessie Corprew Harrison. For the past year, he was employed by U.S. Plastic Molding Corp. of Wallingford. Before this, he was a landscape gardener and tree surgeon for 25 years.
He was a member of First Congregational Church of Cheshire and a past member of the Cheshire Rifle and Gun Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth E. Harrison of Prospect Park, N.J., Lawrence O. Harrison of Wallingford and Alden J. Harrison of Branford; one daughter, Mrs. William S.L, Hammersley of Wallingford; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hood of Dover, N.C., Mrs. Nils L. Rosdahl of Ridgefield Park, N.J., and Mrs. Herbert West of Warsaw, N.C. and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home, 615 S. Main St., Cheshire, with the Rev. Edwin Lincoln officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Cheshire.

Helen Harrison
CHESHIRE — Helen Mittman Harrison, 80, formerly of Wallingford Road, died Wednesday evening at World War II Veterans’ Memorial Hospital in Meriden after a long illness. She was the late Robert Alden Harrison’s wife.
Born Jan. 15, 1910, in Torrington, the daughter of the late Julius and Olga Arndt Mittman, she had lived in Cheshire for many years. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Cheshire Senior Citizens.
Her survivors include three sons, Kenneth E. Harrison of Stratford, Lawrence O. Harrison of Cheshire, and Alden J. Harrison of Acton, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Audrey) Hammersley of Wallingford; two sisters, Lydia Crossfield of Torrington and Elsa Goodale of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral will be held Saturday at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Burial at Hillside Cemetery.
