Alan W. Mittman, 82, of Muscatine, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. Interment will be private. Memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Humane Society in Alan’s memory. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Alan was born October 16, 1941 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Earl R. and Miriam M. (Shellady) Mittman. He graduated from Muscatine High School. Alan was united in marriage to Constance K. Bigelow on December 28, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Alan worked for Alcoa his entire life. He was a member of New Hope Church, United Steelworkers Union, Musicians Union, and the Moose Lodge. He loved music and was a talented electric bass guitarist. He enjoyed woodworking and painting and was an avid collector of motorcycles. His signature trade was adding pinstriping to everything.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Connie Mittman of Muscatine; son, Tim (Martha) Mittman of Muscatine; and daughter, Angela (Scott) Wisely of Blaine, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
