Funeral Today
Robert Mittman Was Laid To Rest
This Afternoon in Greenwood

The last sad rites over the remains of the late Robert Mittman were said this afternoon at 2:30 at the German Evangelical church. Rev. J. Jans, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services. The funeral cortege was formed at the house of the deceased, south of this city, where short services were held early in the afternoon. In almost countless numbers, friends of the late Mr. Mittman gathered at the home, displaying how universally this man’s life is mourned. The Mechanics Aid society was in charge of the services in this city, and 30 members, together with Paudiet’s band, met the funeral procession on West Front Street. Then, to the strains of a dismal dirge, played by the band, the remains were taken to the church, where Rev. J. Jans conducted the sad services. The floral offerings were beautiful. After the services, the remains were taken to Greenwood Cemetery, where interment was made.
