WALTER MITTMAN
Funeral services for Walter J. Mittman, 87, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Faith United Church of Christ. Rev. Walter Ross and Rev. Leon Knitt will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park under the direction of the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home.
Mr. Mittman, 708 Newell Ave., died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday at Valley View Manor following an extended illness.
He was born April 12, 1886, at Muscatine, the son of Robert and Mary Asthalter Mittman. He was a lifelong resident of Muscatine.
Walter Mittman married Clara Kothe on April 14, 1915, in Muscatine. He was a member of the Faith United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Arthur of Eugene, Ore., and Wayne of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Bernice) Hinrichsen, Mrs. Lyle (Catherine) Krueger, Muscatine; and Mrs. Carl (Sharon) Klein, Iowa City; 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Gertz and Mrs. Ernest Stender, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, three sisters, and one brother.
